SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for conducting trailers inspections, fleet maintenance management, assisting with customer service and direct customer communication. Also responsible for trailer and parts inventory and to provide reports on these assets and asset utilization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Inspection of trailers making sure they are safe as well as DOT and other industry regulation compliant.
* Generating customer agreements.
* Negotiating and coordinate all work needing to be performed on trailers with vendors as well as ensuring the work performed follows company policies and procedures.
* Manages and reconciles all equipment inventory, including both out-bound and in-bound gate activity on a daily basis. (Yard checks)
* Assists in the facilitation of the transportation of equipment between branches as well as to customers and vendors.
* Daily administrative paperwork, managing and processing vendor invoices, and filing.
* Assists in answering phones, responding to emails and questions from customers.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
* General understanding of all semi trailer models and components.
* Well organized and detailed with the ability to prioritize and problem solve.
* Strong customer focus and ability to manage customer and vendor expectations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, multi-tasker, sense of urgency, personable, well organized.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
* When needed physically inspect trailers inside and out. (Must get in the trailer as well as underneath the trailer.)
* Continually walking the yard.
* Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

Technology Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites - Word, Excel, Outlook, as well as QuickBooks

Required experience:

  • Customer service experience in logistics/transportation industry - preferred.
